Standard Bus Test
After testing the buses with the engine at idle and at different operating conditions, several steps were taken to enhance performance which resulted in the utilization of about 40 amperes of extra power from the existing bus system.
After calculating the difference before and after the oxy-hydrogen unit was added, preliminary costing savings have been about 12-19% (Variations: different driver, weather, traffic lights stops); the average cost saving is 15%.
Engines operating with the EPOCH EP-C100 & EP-C50 Dual Fuel HHybrid® Fuel Systems realize these important benefits:
- Complete combustion reduces air pollution and increases fuel efficiency and, therefore increases the horsepower of the vehicle.
- Reduces fuel cost about 15-20%.
-When used with diesel, bio-diesel or gasoline engines, a significant reduction in fuel consumption and emissions can be realized. The system gets its power from the original battery with the alternator’s extra power providing the electricity for the system; oxy-hydrogen fuel is delivered into the engine manifold.
- Fuel is made on-demand. The oxy-hydrogen fuel is produced on-demand using soft, clean water.
Features and Components:
- Stainless steel exterior for water tank, main unit and hoses. Corrosion resistant for long life.
- PWM for efficient and reliable dual power mode operation. Easy set up for any size engine; PWM can be set to match gas output to engine size when the system is installed.
- Fully digital electronics for stability, reliability and low heat.
- Built-in polarity reversal switching (changes on each power off). Proven to greatly extend electrolysis plate life; causes cells to self-clean and remain free of surface contamination.
- Integrated gas leak detector, over-pressure, low water (etc.)
- Automatic switching for 12/24 Volts D.C.
- Flooded cell design for maximum efficiency, gas production and minimum heat. Provides for self-circulating electrolyte; more energy efficient. Integrated D.C. pump to maximize gas production and reduce heat up to 50%.
- Optional low power heating blanket (or similar component) for sub-zero operations. Essential for use in extremely cold environments; has automatic temperature controlled switch wired directly to vehicle power source.
- Automatic temperature controlled ducted cooling fan. Integrated switching allows for direct wiring to vehicle; installed before the water tank for maximum heat reduction.
- 20-Liter S.S. water tank for extended range (on EP-100) and better cooling capacity. Unit acts as system cooling, water trap, flashback arrestor, and water bubbler.
- Inline filter for maintaining clear electrolyte easy access and cleaning.
- Secure wireless transceiver. Eliminates wiring between main unit and driver’s control box; provides resl time information to driver; secure, encoded wireless connection prevents interference from other electronic devices.
- Integrated R.O. filter (simplified-only necessary components and filters).
- Full system drain. Integrated full system drain for clean, safe maintenance.
- Dual-State Chamber. Primary stage is always on (for idle), secondary stage turns on when needed (to provide more effective gas production).
- Built-in 2 GB Memory. 2 GB memory is enough to contain all the data for more than 10 years at a 5-minute sampling rate. Information includes unit version and serial number, software version number, total hours of operation, past maintenance, error log, system status at 5-minute intervals, and history of locations. (This information cannot be erased.)
- Built-in GPS. Built-in GPS allows for sampling and storage of location information, as well as automatic time adjustments. This is an excellent and inexpensive component that greatly enhances security. If the driver’s cell phone is connected to the interface, his location can easily be tracked from the home base. In the event the vehicle is stolen, it can be tracked.
- Built-in Accelerometer. In the event of a collision, the system will turn off (reset by pushing both the “INFO” & “X-FER” buttons for 10 seconds). It is also possible to have it tied into the GPS so if the vehicle is either in a bad collision or is turned on its side or roof, the GPS will automatically send out a distress signal to the home base. It is adjustable to 3 levels of sensitivity, each with 0 to 100% adjustment; for cars, trucks or heavy equipment.
- Standard radio slot dimensions; removable faceplate; outer case for external installations. Standard radio-slot dimensions make in-dash installations easy-regardless of the vehicle. Removable faceplate gives access for service. If the vehicle has no available radio slot, a matte black, high-impact, high quality plastic cover looks sleek. Mounting holes on the case make it easy to install above or below the dashboard of any vehicle.
- Digital components. Digital components are the most accurate, trouble-free, vibration-proof and flexible in their potential uses and functions. They are also the most energy efficient and produce very little heat. Built-in self-diagnostics each time the system is turned on will ensure all conditions are within normal operating parameters.
- Secure Wireless. This allows for simple installation (only power wire and ground) with high security. No two transceivers are the same and outside signals will not interfere.
- Three-line text message screen. Three lines of text gives the driver all the detailed information needed.
- Multi-color backlighting. Enhanced safety as backlighting color draws the driver’s attention to the interface. Backlight colors are as follows: Blue for normal operation, Yellow for minor issues, Red for critical issues and Green for service and/or maintenance.
- Backlit Indicators. Specific backlit indicators for Power, Water, Service, Wireless Link, Temperature and Fan also change colors. Green = normal, Yellow = minor issue, Blinking Red = critical issue.
- Built-in USB Port. USB interface allows for several key advances. System software/firmware upgrades can be e-mailed to service reps and then easily installed. Service reps can download the entire history of each individual system into a USB drive or notebook computer. Comprehensive system set up, adjustments, diagnostics etc. can be done using a service rep’s notebook computer. For end-users, the USB port can be used in the event of a problem while the vehicle is on the road. The driver simply connects a cell phone, USB drive or MP3 player to the interface via a USB cable, pushes the X-FER button, and all needed system information including vehicle location is uploaded into the phone. The driver can then call a special number which will act in a similar manner to a FAX. The technician on the receiving end will then be able to look at the complete system status and history, as well as know the location of the vehicle.

- Max Engine RPM increased from 2280RPM to 2350RPM, and the time to reach top engine speed from idle fell from 2.0 to 0.8.
- The Euro-5 class represents the cleanest burning, most fuel efficient diesel truck available in Europe.
- 65% reduction in soot particles (black smoke).
